The majority of bait recipes are getting cheaper!
That means crafting your favourite baits will soon be more affordable, giving everyone even more opportunities to craft, fish, trade and experiment as the new Fish Tank system gets ready to make its splash.
But there is one important change…
🌊 Reef Paste Takes Its Place at the Top
Reef Paste has always been intended to be a premium-tier bait, and as we prepare for the next stage of Hooked, we’re bringing its pricing into line with that position.
Since launch, Reef Paste has been dramatically underpriced compared with its intended value. From today, its recipe price will be adjusted to reflect its status as our top-tier bait.
So while Reef Paste will be the exception to our price reductions, this change means it will finally sit where it belongs within the Hooked bait hierarchy.
Most baits: cheaper.
Reef Paste: premium.
The crafting system: better balanced and ready for what’s coming next!

And we’ve made a change we think you’re going to love!
We want everyone to be able to jump straight in from day one—whether you’re an experienced Hooked player or completely new to the game.
So, when the tanks arrive, you won’t need to craft your very first tank before you can start.
We’ll give you the basics. You decide where to take them!
🐟 Everything You Need to Get Started
When the new tank system launches, starter tanks, starter fish and starter decorations will all be available to purchase with Lindens.
That means you can get everything you need to create your very first underwater world right from the start.
No fishing experience required.
No crafting experience required.
Just choose your tank, pick your fish, add some decorations…
and you’re ready to go! 🐠✨
🌊 But That’s Just the Beginning…
Of course, we know our Hooked players.
Give you the basics and before long you’ll be asking:
“How do I make my tank better?”
“Where can I get that amazing decoration?”
“Can I build something really special?”
And that’s where Crafting comes back into the picture.
Your starter tank is just that—a starting point.
As you become more involved with the tank system, you’ll be able to work towards special tanks, rarer decorations and more exciting items.
And these won’t simply be sitting on a vendor waiting for you…
You’ll need to craft them!

🐠 A Whole New World Is Coming to Hooked! |
What if we told you that you don’t even have to fish to play Hooked?
That’s right!
We’re opening up a whole new side of the Hooked experience, where you can build, decorate, stock and nurture your very own fish tanks—and who knows what incredible creatures you might eventually discover hiding inside them!
Whether you’re already an avid angler or you’ve never picked up a fishing rod in your life, the world of Hooked is about to get a whole lot bigger.
🐠 So… How Do I Get a Tank?
Tanks are going to be crafted items, meaning you’ll need to get your crafting hat on!
Recipes for the tanks will be available from the Mainstore and, just like our other crafting recipes, Pearls will be needed to purchase them.
So those daily fishing activities and Pearl collections are about to become even more valuable!
Once you’ve got your recipe, it’s time to start crafting your very own underwater home.
🐟 But Where Do I Get My Fish?
Here’s the good news…
You don’t need to catch them!
Starter fish will be available to purchase with Lindens, giving everyone an easy way to get started—even if fishing isn’t your thing.
Pick your fish, build your tank and start creating your own little underwater world.
And from there?
Well… that’s where things get interesting.
🌿 Let’s Decorate!
Every tank can hold up to:
🐟 6 Fish
🌿 6 Decor Items
Common starter decorations will be available to purchase with Lindens, giving you everything you need to create your first tank.
But once you’ve started building your collection, that’s when crafting really comes into its own.
More unusual and desirable decorations will be crafted, with recipes available in exchange for Pearls.
So your tank isn’t just somewhere to keep fish…
It’s something you build.
✨ The Better the Tank… The Better the Possibilities!
Here’s where things get really exciting.
Your tank has its own quality level, and that quality is determined by the rarity of the fish and decor items you place inside it.
The better the items you put into your tank, the higher its quality becomes.
And the higher the quality…
The greater your chance of breeding something rare.
Suddenly, that humble little starter tank could become the beginning of something very special.
🍤 Yes… Your Fish Get Hungry!
Just like any good fish keeper, you’re going to have to feed your residents!
Your fish can be fed:
🪱 Worm Bait
🍤 Shrimp Bait
And your choice of food can make a difference to how quickly your tank breeds.
⏰ How Quickly Will They Breed?
The breeding time depends on two things:
How many fish you have in your tank
What you’re feeding them
For example, a tank containing 6 fish, fed daily with Worm Bait, can breed approximately once a week.
Switch to feeding the same tank with Shrimp Bait, and that breeding time can drop to approximately once every 3 days!
So you’ll have choices to make.
Do you take the slower route?
Or do you keep those fish well supplied with shrimp and see what happens?
And, of course, the real excitement comes when that tank produces something rare.
🎣 Do I Have to Fish to Take Part?
Nope!
This is one of the biggest changes coming to Hooked.
You don’t need to be a fisher to enjoy this side of the game.
You can concentrate entirely on building beautiful tanks, collecting fish, finding rare decorations, crafting, breeding and trading.
Or…
You can do all of it!
Fish, craft, decorate, breed and trade your way through the Hooked world however you choose.
🔄 And Yes… Everything Is Transferable!
One of the most exciting parts of this new system is that everything is transferable.
Fish, tanks and decorations can all become part of the player-to-player economy.
That means your Hooked adventure could take you in all sorts of directions.
Maybe you’re the crafter producing the items everyone needs.
Maybe you’re the collector searching for rare fish and decorations.
Or perhaps you’re going to become the person everyone comes to when they want that perfect tank!

We know you’re probably wondering “When can I get my hands on all this?” 👀
Well… not quite yet!
The new tank and breeding system is currently in beta testing as we work behind the scenes to make sure everything is working as it should before we unleash it on the Hooked community.

The response to the new Crafting System has been incredible, and today we’re taking things one giant step further by completely changing the way bait works in Hooked.

Crafting hasn’t launched yet… but if you’re grinding your way into the Top 3 of your league, you’re about to get a taste of what’s coming.
Introducing the League Top 3 ReefPaste Vendors, available now at each league’s vendor area. ReefPaste is the first crafted item you’ll ever be able to get your hands on in Hooked. Consider this your sneak preview of the crafting system before it goes live.
So what does ReefPaste actually do? ReefPaste is hand-crafted bait with a faster bite time than any standard bait in the game. Less waiting, more reeling! Cast for cast, nothing in your tacklebox today will get fish on your line quicker. When crafting launches, you’ll be making this yourself from gathered materials and recipes. For now, only Top 3 league anglers get to fish with it.
Here’s the deal:
- You must currently be ranked Top 3 in your league to purchase
- Purchases go straight to your Tacklebox. Just open your HUD and equip
- Buy as many times as you like, as long as you’re holding a Top 3 spot!
⏰ This is a limited preview! The ReefPaste vendors are only available through July 19th! Once the preview ends, ReefPaste goes back in the vault until crafting officially launches. If you want to fish with it early, now’s the time to climb.
